Greetings!

I agree with Simon and Pat - the Skirmish was absolutely AMAZING!!!! My friend and I went on the Sunday and had a brillliant time watching the medieval battle, marvelling at the Cossack riders, looking around the stalls, laughing with the jesters and partaking of the mead!

The weather was absolutely GORGEOUS!!! My friend and I wore our medieval style dresses (Wild Applause for Dornbluth.co.uk) and we made our own head dresses (amazing what you can do with a bit of ivy and wire!) So many people came up to us and asked us if we wouldn't mind having our photos taken - we felt like a couple of extras out of a medieval movie!!!

The only thing that was missing was a performance by the Baebes! Baebes - Please, please, please make sure that you are there next year - it would be a wonderful experience to see you!

I can't wait for next Summer! But thankfully, the new album will be out come Autumn and I will be able to see the Baebes in their Christmas Concert on 20 December 2008 at Gloucester Cathedral!

'Til our next merry meeting!

Lady D XXXX

Lady D, I think that I saw a couple of young ladies who could have been you & your friend. I would attach a copy of a photo taken of them but
THE IMAGE POSTER STILL WON'T WORK

YES! That sounds like me and my friend - I was the tall one!

Gosh! Isn't it a small world?!

Do you happen to know of any other medieval style events on or around the West Midlands/ South West area? I would love to know as I am totally passionate about all things medieval!!

I think that the next time I will wear my green gown will be at the Ludlow Medieval Christmas Market which is always held on the final weekend in November!

It would be good to keep in touch - I daresay that the next "Gathering of the Faithful" will be the Baebes concert at Gloucester Cathedral on 20 December 2008!

Lady D (Feeling all amazed!)

Hello all,

Just to let you know, the Berkeley skirmish will once again be held in the beautiful setting of the Berkeley meadow on the 18th & 19th July.

I'm hoping that the 'recession' (I hate that word) won't hit it too badly, but I guess we could help that out by turning up!!!

Yep, 18 & 19 July will see the Summer Meadow below Berkeley Castle come alive with hosts of men-at-arms, archers, traders, etc. I wonder if Chris Bruce has organised some more music this year. Last year we had the wonderful Dragon Dancer (Sara Best) who charmed everyone whilst prancing around accomapanied by Cornucopia (Rachel Frost, Simon Page & Kenneth McQueenie). Who knows, we might see a Baebe or two turn up for the Mediaeval Bears Picnic! :D
