Did anyone manage to catch Kat at witchfest?

I was lucky enough to see Katharine's Band at Witchfest, they filled the huge Concert Theatre with the most amazing dream like sound and had a great responce from the fans.
A truly great evening was had by all and one of my favourite shows of the year!!

Many Thanks to all involved...x

My favorites on this CD are Midnight Flower, Cold Blows the Wind and This Harp, Which I Wake Now for Thee. The first creates a beautiful, sublunar, poetic landscape where the moon and darkness rule desire. The recorder refrain is absolutely transporting. I've heard many versions of Cold Blows the Wind (sometimes called The Unquiet Grave) but never this version. Nick Marsh's vocals (and guitar) give the right gravitas for this maiden's grisly request. I've heard different versions of maidens changing into harps (Cruel Sister by Pentangle and The Bonny Swans by Loreena Mckennitt) but usually in those versions murder, jealousy and revenge are the themes. In this version the sadness and beauty of love set the tone. Katherine always seems to be looking for something a little different and maybe a little better. Midnight Flower is a great example of understanding the beauty of poetry and lyrics, and finding the perfect musical style to convey it. Other favorites include Song of the Twilight Faeries and Frozen on the Morn. Katherine and everyone involved (including Smila the Husky) should be commended.
