In most cases, the track I happen to be listening to always seems to me to be the best one. If I was forced to pick one then I guess it might be Tam Lin or Return of the Birds or ...

I'm with Pat on this one. Star of the Sea and then Kilmeny are my fav's. Does anyone know if there is a video clip anywhere of the Baebes doing Star of the Sea? :)

Mirabilis is really fantastic and I really like most of the songs there. I didn't fancy Tam Lin too much though except for the climax. It was a little dreary to me. However, I realised that the song worked well when it was performed live like in the Baebes DVD. It had a theatrical element to it that made me appreciate it better.

I have finally decided that my favourite song as of now would have to be 'Return of the Birds'. There are many layers of instrumentation to the song and I enjoy the recorder harmony as it tries to replicate the sounds of birdsong. The song is truly celebrative and it conjures images of birds flying to the valley of Tempe and hidden groves. :D

Greetings to all Mediaeval Beabes and their most faire Supporters!

To date (and let's face it, who knows what gorgeous delights the new CD has to offer?!) my favourite Baebes song has to be "Quan Vey La Lauzeta" which is a beautiful and light melody.

My second favourite Baebes song has to be, without any doubt, "Salva Nos" - I agree with a comment made by another supporter on this site that the song has a lovely wintry feel to it. I was playing that "Salva Nos" on the way to my first ever Baebes gig was at the beautiful Tewkesbury Catherdral in December 2006 - and then to hear it performed live was even better! From then on, I was a confirmed Baebes Fan!!!

Isn't it remarkable how some songs spark off nostalgia?

'Til our next merry meeting!

Love Lady D'Arbanville!

Fave tunes so far are (out of the 4 albums I have so far)

Temptasyon
San’c Fuy Belha
Palästinalied
Märk Hur Vår Skugga
Quan Vey La Lauzeta
E Volentieri

in no particular order......by coincidence from just the two albums....

If you absolutely forced me to choose one and one only, it would have to be Palästinalied

All good stuff tho'

New album is on the Christmas list, so there may be some more to add to that soon......

This Is So Hard The Baebes Have So Many Awesome Songs But My Favourites From Mirabilis Are.
1. All For Love Of One is just something else i love the ancient drums sound that just gets me everytime and when they all come in with the HAAAs that just gets my blood going being a highlander there is just some thing about that song for me.
2.Temptasyon and Come My Sweet are next fantastic they really hit the spot well cool.I never seem to get bored with any of there stuff just timeless.
3.Kilmeny and Tam Lin are a close 3rd Tam Lun is just haunting just amazing.
And all the rest are brilliant to its so hard to pick because they all do something to me.The Baebes Do Rock Man
