Hmmm, could set a new trend:
"The Worst Of......."
"Now Thats What I Call Crap Music Volume......"
"Songs You Ran Screaming From"
"Bernard Manning Sings Selections From Tubular Bells & The 1812 Overture"
"Gordon Brown - Rap Star"

Cheers, :D

Just listened/endured it again & it still doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. Trance-type tracks are fine but this just isn't what the Baebes do best. Anyway, it would be a dull old World if we all liked the same things.
At the moment all I can hear is the whirring of the cd player as the silent bit trudges on to the hidden ending bit.

Cheers, :(

I'll listen to "Yonder Lea" as an antidote............

I kind of like Blow Northern Wind - but not all the time :P Ýou need to be in the right mood for it, i.e. quite uninterested for it to endure ! I also didn't like There is no Rose... until I saw and heard it on the DVD - gorgeous! But to be fair, there are a couple of tracks on Salva Nos & The Rose that I don't dig at all. Which is why I left them off :P

Allright, here's my best-of list (which will be made into a cd sometime soon!):

01. Salve Virgo Virginum
02. Ah Si Mon Moine (my mum loves this one!)
03. All turns to yesterday
04. Love me broughte
05. Isabella
06. Ecce Mundi Gaudium
07. Cantiga (instr.) (you can't make a best of without including at least one instrumental!!)
08. I Am Eve
09. Dringo Bell
10. Temptasyon
11. All for love of one
12. Star of the Sea
13. My Lady Sleepes (from album "Live")
14. Desert Rose
15. Mad Song
16. Miseria Nomine
17. Undrentide
18. Glass Window
19. Return of the Birds
20. Suscipe Flos Florem
21. La Volta (instr.) (This is my fav instrumental by the Baebes...I wonder why they don't include anymore instrumentals in their albums?)
22. There is no Rose of Swych Vertu (from album "Live")
23. L'Amour de Moi (at least this one contains Dorothy!)
24. Erthe Upon Erthe (my first fav Baebe Song)
25. Miracle

Love,
Phantas

The thing with "Best of....." albums is that they're so subjective. (I mean, where's anyone referring to "Lyke Wake Dirge" ? (or "This ay nicht" as you'll probably know it as) I mean, that's the track that drew me in. I just wish the Baebes would sing it live again!

Each of us have different favourites and not-so-favourites - and long may it remain so!!! :D

I second the opinion of the Right Honorable Gentleman from East Anglia!
Cheers, :D

Shame on you Sparkles!!! That tune is in devotion to the Lord!! OK. Perhaps it is a bit slow. Of all the Baebes music I own, which I think is all that exists, Dringo Bell is the only one I'll skip. I'm not typically averse to repetitiveness, but that one somehow crosses my line.

Wow... that was like confession;

Forgive me Kat for I have sinned... 50 Pater Nostras.

Then that'll be why I follow a more 'craft' based religion

AH! I love This Ay Nicht! It's just that...it didn't fit in for some reason, and I love some other tracks just a tad wee more. I feel it's a gloomy track, dark and cold, and they have soooo many tracks that I like, that You have to say yes to some and say no to others. But yes, as you say, it's very subjective. It always is.

Love,
Phantas

Aww, I love Blow Northern Wind! We're having it at our wedding :)

However, I really hate Spiriti, it's that "aaeeo" noise in the background mainly, its like a car alarm.

My favourites are:

The Work of the Lord
Come My Sweet
Blow Northern Wind
Dringo Bell
Glass Window
Ah Si Mon Moine
Ecco Mundi Gaudium
Salva Nos
Star of the Sea
The Lament
Tam Lin (although I didn't like it at first!)
Scarborough Fayre

OOOH One of my favorites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish it was included in the Songbook, but it isn't. Can't be that hard, though; I think it's just in parallel fifths. I'm going to convince my group to do it!!!!!!
