It appears in different places as Melpomene and Melpomeni. Even on her MySpace it appears both ways. Near as I can gather Melpomene is the traditional spelling for the Greek Muse. I'd have assumed that it was simply a stage name except that I have an aunt named Aphrodite. Just have way to little to think about lately I guess. Anybody know??

I assume if it's originally Greek, there's some disagreement over an appropriate rendering in English.

It is her real name, she's of Greek descent. With an 'i' as well.
