Mediaeval Baebes Newsletter March 09
Greetings fellow Mediaevellers!!
We return from a fabulous trip to Arizona, tanned and invigorated and looking forward to everything we have in store for you in the coming months.
We had some tremendous shows while we were in America performing at the Arizona Renaissance Festival, made lots of new friends, had fun making radio and TV appearances and thoroughly enjoyed the enormous outdoor hot tub at our hotel, big enough to fit the whole band in!
The new Mediaeval Baebes ‘Live At Gloucester Cathedral’ DVD is in the last stages of completion and will include interviews with the Baebes and some hilarious backstage footage – including our guitarists Frank and Kavus putting us to shame with their stylish dancing. We are hoping this will be available to you by the end of March. You can pre-order it from our website!
We are honoured to have been asked to contribute a track to the ‘Danger Global Warming Project’ organised by The Blacksmoke Organisation to raise awareness of climate change. This exciting initiative is supported by hundreds of the world's most respected and influential artists, including film-makers, photographers, actors, musicians, designers, writers and more. The musical content is based upon a single, original theme tune being 'recycled' by leading musicians worldwide in every conceivable musical style. The Baebes will obviously be giving the song their own inimitable mediaeval treatment.
The Illumination album will be getting a full UK release by May 2009 when it will be available in all usual record shops and online digital download stores. In support of the official release we will be doing just a few UK live shows.
The first of these to be announced is at The Stables in Milton Keynes on the 22nd May. Tickets are on sale priced £19.50 and you can buy them here
More UK dates will be announced shortly and of course we will once again embark on a Christmas tour in December, which will include return visits to Ely, Christchurch and Birmingham.
We’re in the process of planning more trips to the USA for later in 2009 and beyond into 2010.
As a taster, the Baebes will be back in America for a short tour at the beginning of September, full dates coming soon but will include:

Frick Art & Historical Center

The concert will be held on the great lawn. It begins at 7:00 p.m. All ages are invited to attend and admission is FREE!
In the meantime we are very excited to be starting rehearsals this month to create a new, bigger and better show to delight your senses next year so watch this space!
Love
The Baebes
