At the Pittsburgh show on Friday (at the crowd-filled, beautiful atmosphere of the Frick Art & Historical Center), in the reception line, I forgot to thank you ladies for signing the card that Pat the Photografriar kindly made for my husband who is battling cancer. We received it while he was going through his first chemo treatment. That really meant a lot to us, thank you :) It was nice to see you all again and to chat for a little while. I think I speak for everyone who attended the gig that we want you to come back to the Pennsylvania/Ohio area next year! The performance was the best one I've seen yet! Absolutely perfect and polished...better than the studio.

I also wish to thank you all for the great show in Pittsburgh. I live close to the venue (maybe a mile away), so travel was quick and easy. The price was a steal. The weather was perfect. I sat under a tree, my back up against its trunk, and truly enjoyed watching and listening to a great concert.

I hope that you will someday return here for another show. DONT be detered by a passive quiet older crowd. Before sunrise, when you said "this song requires audience participation" I said "uh-oh" and I heard a lady behind me to the left say "oh-no!" We knew what was going to happen. The crowd was much different than I initially anticipated, but since PBS was involved, the crowd reflected PBS radio listeners, the performing arts consumers in town. In 2007 I was at a Celtic Woman concert here. Their drummer prompted the crowd to clap. Didnt happen. Crowd was silent until halfway through the second half of the show. After a Lord of the Dance show here in 2008, the dancers lined up and did their hop-skip-kick-twist-jump bit indicating the end of the show and time for the standing ovation. Didnt happen. Their leader signaled them to do it again. No standing O. Took like 6 tries to get one. At times, our performing arts crowds can get lively, like this year at Celtic Woman, They must have spiked the water because the place was jumping. But thats the exception, not the rule. But from what I heard other people saying, they liked you all and enjoyed the show.

You can imagine the same happening with us "stiff-necked Brits"! "What, us, have to do something". Most times people are very quickly bellowing "Sunrise" in roughly the right place & with gusto & smacking their little paws together in some kind of rhythm.

Singing along to 'Sunrise' was one of my best Baebe bits EVER! ;)

Well at this show, the little kids sure were dancing up a storm!! I think the crowd was pretty good, actually. Lots of families and intellectual-looking people sipping wine, and they all seemed to really be enjoying themselves!

I wish I had sat near you then! Most of the older people sitting near me were too busy sippping on wine to clap. The children were all fairly well restrained except for the little guy screaming directly into my ear from behind me to the right. I ignord it at first, hey kids should have fun. But after he kept at it, I was there to hear the performers, not to hear kids scream. So I quickly turned my head and stared at him for a couple seconds, and he got real quiet. That was that.

I hope the ladies witnessed the people near you and that made a good impression on them. I am hoping they come back for more shows in the future. Also, I could have sworn one of the performers said something like "Come on now, theres like 3 and a half THOUSAND people here" which I thought was a reference to the large group of people (it did seem to be fairly large) being overly quiet and not clapping along.

I agree though that everyone enjoyed themselves. As people chatted while they were exiting, I heard a lot of positive comments.

Oh my, you must have been sitting in the dead section! Should have moved up to the front where we were :D The girls seemed to really enjoy the venue when speaking with them in the reception line, so maybe they'll venture back to PA. Wondering about the possibility of a 3,000+ crowd...there were quite a lot of people!

One place they really need to conquer is the West Coast. While living in Seattle, I met countless fans. Medieval music seems to be popular there, as well as theatre, fantasy festivals and the like.

Hey Cash -

Don't apologize for the audience at The Frick. The crowd was huge, the organizers at The Frick were thrilled with the concert and the response & praise of the band from the crowd. The Baebes themselves told me they felt it was one of the best shows they have ever done, and really enjoyed Pittsburgh.

So, it was all good!
